Jim Gambrell has 23 years of professional commercial real estate brokerage, marketing, development and consulting experience.  Prior to starting Oakway Properties, Jim was a broker and business park developer with The Keith Corporation.  His experience includes serving as Principal of Gambrell Properties and as Director of Office and Industrial Leasing with Charter Properties in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Projects managed and operated directly by Jim include developing and marketing business and industrial parks, negotiating major office and industrial leases, representing buyers and sellers in commercial property transactions and consulting with large property owners to develop plans for maximizing development potential for their property.  Clients include Moore & Van Allen, the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association, the City of Clinton, SC, ARAMARK, MetroTech Chemicals and many individual property owners.


Jim earned a Bachelors Degree in Business Administration from Presbyterian College and attended the University of Georgia in Athens.  He is a licensed real estate broker in Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina and Georgia.  He is a longtime member of the Charlotte Chamber of Commerce and is active in the Charlotte Region Commercial Board of Realtors.  He is a member of the North Carolina Association of Realtors and the National Association of Realtors.  The Charlotte Region Commercial Board of Realtors has named Jim to the “Multi-Million Dollar Club” on multiple occasions and has tabbed him as “Top Producer – Office”.

He is Past President of the Charlotte Basketball Committee, is an alumnus of Leadership Charlotte and has served on the Board of Visitors and the Alumni Board of Directors of Presbyterian College.  Jim is an Elder at First Presbyterian Church Charlotte.

Jim and his wife, Carla, have two sons.  Van is a freshman at Vanderbilt University and Carl is a junior at Charlotte Latin School.
